A rental stair lift is the perfect short-term accessible solution for the stairs when faced with situations such as:
- Recovering from an injury or hip or knee surgery but full recovery of mobility is expected
- A relative with will be staying with you temporarily and their mobility limits them from being able to utilize the stairs, but you want them to them to feel safe & independent in your home
Whatever the situation is, Lifeway has a variety of stair lift rental options that offer you the ability to rent the lift for as long as you or your loved one needs.
What Types of Stair Lifts Can Be Rented?
Straight rail stair lifts for straight staircases are typically the only types of lifts that we offer for rental as the rail can be easily cut to fit the length of the staircase. However in some cases, there are Lifeway Mobility locations that will rent a curved stair lift option for staircases that have curves, turns, or landings.
Please note that a manual folding rail is the only option that can be added when renting a stair lift. Single or double installations are available as needed (double installation includes two lifts installed inside or outside of a single home).

- Our standard rental package includes:
- Professional installation & removal of the stair lift (once the lift is no longer needed, we'll come out to remove it!)
- 2-Month minimum rental period
- Service & maintenance included for the 1st 12 months of the rental
- Convenience! After the initial 2-month rental period, payments are billed monthly on your credit card.
- The cost of the rental depends on several factors such as the make, model of stair lift and whether a folding option is selected.
- The lifts that we rent come out of the used inventory in our local warehouses.
Purchase Option - Rent-to-Own
Not sure how long you will need your stair lift? Lifeway Mobility offers the ability to rent with an option to buy. This is a perfect option if you are unsure how long the lift will be needed for. For example, if temporary arrangements turn into a permanent living arrangement, then this a great option. You can choose to purchase the rental after any amount of time.
